Lufthansa cabin suitcase for boarding the plane

Cabin suitcases compliant with Lufthansa requirements

Looking for a cabin suitcase that meets Lufthansa's strict hand luggage standards? In our range you will find proven suitcase models measuring 55 × 40 × 23 cm, ideal for flying with the German carrier. This guarantees that your luggage will pass the check without extra fees or stress.

In Economy and Premium Economy, Lufthansa allows 1 piece of hand luggage weighing up to 8 kg, while Business and First Class passengers may bring 2 pieces on board – each up to 8 kg.

In addition, your ticket includes one personal item, such as a backpack, handbag or laptop bag, with maximum dimensions of 40 × 30 × 10 cm. That is enough space for documents, electronics and small travel essentials.

Lufthansa hand luggage – limits and rules

The German carrier clearly specifies how much luggage you can bring:

- 1 × 8 kg (55 × 40 × 23 cm) – Economy and Premium Economy,

- 2 × 8 kg (each piece 55 × 40 × 23 cm) – Business and First Class,

- Foldable garment bag: 57 × 54 × 15 cm,

- Additional personal item: up to 2 kg, max. 40 × 30 × 10 cm.

Lufthansa checks the weight and size of luggage at the airport. Luggage that is too large or too heavy will be taken at the gate and placed in the hold – for an extra fee, often higher than at check-in. That is why it is worth getting a cabin suitcase that complies with Lufthansa standards in advance.

Lufthansa cabin suitcases – who are they for?

A Lufthansa hand luggage suitcase is an ideal choice for:

- people flying for business around Europe,

- travellers on intercontinental routes in business class,

- parents travelling with a child – a stroller and baby food can be brought along,

- people with disabilities – crutches, a wheelchair or medical equipment are permitted,

- anyone who wants to avoid baggage check-in and move around the airport faster.

Hard-shell or soft suitcases for Lufthansa?

The choice depends on your travel style and preferences:

- Hard-shell suitcases (ABS, polycarbonate): better protection of contents, greater resistance to damage.

- Soft suitcases (polyester, nylon): lighter, flexible and with additional pockets.

All models in our range weigh from 1.6 kg – which lets you make the most of the permitted weight limit. They also work well as hand luggage for children.
