Suitcase sale - how to choose the right one?

A lower price is a good time to buy, but your suitcase should still fit the way you travel. Before adding it to your cart, ask yourself two questions: how many days do you usually go away for, and do you fly with carry-on or checked luggage? That determines whether a cabin suitcase, a medium one, a large one, or a whole set will suit you best.

Cabin suitcase

For weekend trips and flights with carry-on luggage. Before you buy, check the dimensions allowed by the airline you fly with most often – limits differ by a few centimetres in depth.

Medium suitcase

The largest group of products in the sale. A medium suitcase is a versatile size for a week's holiday for two or a longer solo trip. It works well as checked luggage on a plane and in a car boot.

Large suitcase

For two-week holidays, trips with children and getaways where you take sports equipment or winter clothes. With a large suitcase, pay attention to its own weight – the lighter it is, the more you can fit within the checked baggage limit.

Suitcase set

If you are replacing all your luggage, a set of three suitcases from one collection is usually better value than buying each one separately. Smaller suitcases can be stored inside the larger one, so the whole set doesn't take up much space at home.

Travel vanity case and accessories

What to look for when buying a suitcase on sale?

• Shell material - polycarbonate is the most impact-resistant, polypropylene combines flexibility with low weight, and ABS+ is a lightweight choice for occasional trips.
• Wheels and handle - four spinner wheels make it easy to guide the suitcase beside you, and a stable telescopic handle doesn't wobble when you walk fast.
• TSA lock - useful if you fly to the USA, because airport security can open the luggage without damaging it.
• Colour - a light or bold suitcase is easier to spot on the baggage belt.
