A security strap is a simple accessory that wraps around your suitcase and presses it shut at the closure. During a journey, luggage is carried many times, stacked in holds and dragged along conveyor belts. A strap reduces the risk of the suitcase popping open after an impact or when the zip is overloaded, and its contents spilling out along the way.

The WINGS strap has a 3-digit combination lock where you set your own number combination. The fastening cannot be undone without knowing the code, so the strap works as an additional closure for your suitcase. You don't need a key, which is easy to lose while travelling.

You can adjust the strap length from 90 to 180 cm, so it fits a cabin, medium or large suitcase. The strap is made of abrasion-resistant polyester, and the buckle of durable ABS plastic. The whole strap weighs around 120 g, so it has practically no effect on the weight of your luggage.

Where does a security strap come in handy?

A strap is useful anywhere you don't have your luggage under constant supervision: in an aircraft hold, in a coach luggage compartment and on a train luggage rack. It is especially worth using on tightly packed suitcases, where the zip is under heavy strain, and on older luggage.

How to choose a suitcase strap?

Start with the circumference of your suitcase at the point where you will fit the strap. Most often the strap goes around the width and depth of the suitcase. For example, a cabin suitcase measuring 55 × 40 × 20 cm has a circumference of about 120 cm at this point. If the result falls within 90-180 cm, the WINGS strap will fit.

Also pay attention to the type of closure. A strap with a combination lock not only keeps the suitcase closed, but also makes it harder for bystanders to undo. The fullest protection comes from combining the strap with a padlock on the suitcase zips.
